What is Poetry
Poetry is many things to many people.
Some love it, some hate it. Some don't understand it. Some understand it, and hate it. Some don't understand it and love it.
And some people just like to listen.
There are many forms of poetry, many definitions of poetry and many poems about poems. This unit will not be able to handle all of them, but hopefully it will give you a taste into this unique world of poetry.

Dead Poet's Society
This movie, starring Robin Williams as energetic professor Keating, is a great look into the power and importance of Poetry. We will watch and discuss these poems in class.
