CP 12 Syllabus

Day 25: October 3, 2016

1. While the deleted scenes are written, they still need performed!  Stay tuned as we take another day or two to finalize them
2. Tomorrow we have some health-screenings and Wednesday we'll start into Brave New World!

​3. Only 20 days left in Q1...will it be enough time to get all the XP....?


Day 22-23: 2016

1. Over the past two days, students have finalized their deleted scenes and prepped for Friday's in-class essay.

2. Reminder that the essay date can be delayed...but students need to make up for it on their own.

3. Deleted scenes are due Monday!



Day 18-19: September 22-23, 2016

1. Over 10% of the way through the school year!  Though Thursday was a rather short one.

2. Those who saw me today worked on the Beowulf Deleted Scenes.  The rest...enjoy your afternoon!

3. Tomorrow we'll move towards wrapping up the scenes and moving on to Beowulf's last week.


Day 15-17: September 19-21, 2016

1. Today we took a closer look at Beowulf and compared it to modern superhero stories

2. By Wednesday, the story should be read and you should be ready for the deleted scene

3. Keep those badges coming; we're about a third of the way through Round 1 of quests.


Day 13-14: September 15-16, 2016

1. Today we solved some riddles and continued reading Beowulf.  The third and final part is tomorrow.

2. Anyone interested in blogging needs to start Friday, ASAP

​3. Just one day left until the Huddle takes the field for the inaugural home game!


Day 10-12: September 12-14, 2016

1. Today we finished up Anglo-Saxon background and started reading Beowulf

2. Students read the story out loud or silently alone.

3. The "epic poem" selections should take about 2-3 days to get through.  See you then!


Day 6-9: September 6-9, 2016

1. Today we continued tinkering away on the College Application Essays

2. Students will have Tuesday-Thursday to get these done, and then the weekend to throw them together.

3. Don't forget to check out some of the badges along the way!


Day 5: September 2, 2016

1. Today we debated Douglas Rushkoff's article "Are Jobs Obsolete?"

2. Students debate both what should be and what will be in the coming job market

3. This discussion served as a model for future discussions throughout the year.


Day 3-4: August 31-September 1, 2016

1. The final day of August is in the books!  We're moving on to a new month tomorrow.

2. Today we cracked open the College Application Essay and started drafting.  We'll continue tomorrow.

3. Between now and Friday, take a look at the "Are Jobs Necessary?" article


Day 2: August 30, 2016

1. Today we took a look at the course philosophy, syllabus, and 3D Game Lab

2. Students "completed" their first quest and gained access to the badges and main assignments

3. Tomorrow we'll do introductions and begin the College Essay


Day 1: August 29, 2016

1. Happy First Day- today we played some Angry Birds and started talking about Games in Education

2. Tomorrow we'll review the syllabus and get started on the 3D Game Lab software

3. Remember to have a Google Drive account set up ASAP along with finding some headphones.
