The Holocaust
The 1930's and 1940's were a dark time for Europe. The continent was ravaged by war, millions lost their lives, and regimes rose and fell. Perhaps the worst of all the atrocities in modern history was the Holocaust. Six million Jewish, Polish and other people were slaughtered by the Nazi Party as part of Hitler's Final Solution.
Why did this happen? What was it like? How can it be avoided in the future?
These questions and more will be discussed and answered as we read Night by Elie Wiesel, a first-hand Holocaust survivor. Wiesel's story is a haunting tale about the human capacity for evil, and the dangers of fear.
