Of course, the first question we all had to answer was simple: What is a remarkable learning experience? We all brainstormed for a few minutes and then shared our responses on post-it notes. Some key categories that came up were: Authentic, Collaboration, Used Technology, Synthesized Content, and Fun. Interestingly enough, those are all of the elements a solid gamified course should (ideally) possess, and key elements in project-based learning as well. In other words, it great to see the same qualities valued and reflected by other educators.
Over the rest of the meeting, we came up with our learning goals, essential questions, big ideas, and starting making progress to put the "cookbook" together. While there's still a bit more work to do, the final eclectic product looks like it will be something worth sharing.
