That being said...aside from avoiding pain while running, I don't understand shoes. Women seem to like all different shapes and sizes. Some men (or boys) are obsessed with Jordans or sneakers. I heard tell of a student at my school who actually spent $2000 on a new pair of shoes for his collection. Obviously, something that pricey can't actually be worn, so it's literally just for show. (How a 16 year old came by $2000 he can dispose of at will is a whole different question). I'm sitting here looking at my new shoes right now, and while I enjoy the "new shoe smell", that's about it. There's an entire culture around these things I don't understand.
What's the purpose of this post? There's culture to be found everywhere? One man's trash is another man's treasure? Don't forget to see the value in the small things? I don't know...I don't suppose I really had a point. It's interesting though how the most ordinary items can vary so much in monetary and sentimental value, depending on who you're talking to.
