Sadly, there was no extra sleep, and the work was all still there. I didn't find out about the day off until I walked into BHS. When I was there, I found at least half of the teaching staff already there and already tinkering away. Even when the cancelation was announced, most decided to stay and get some work done. Myself, I entered some lesson plans, graded some student papers, wrote some graduate school assignments, and watched a Seinfeld episode on Crackle.com. Why? Perhaps it's because as fun as snow-days are, they only really feel powerful if you can derive a mix of productivity and laziness. We'll all regret this snow day in April, might as well enjoy and use it now.
