Of course we've all heard this before. Alvarez was the same story...and McCutchen and Jason Bay. While they all did alright, the game continued as it had before. Each player added his piece, good or bad, but ultimately it's still a team effort. Even Babe Ruth only batted 11% of the time for the Yankees.
I think most of us use the Polanco excuse throughout our lives. We're waiting for that next big thing before we finally get to work or before we'll finally catch a break. The reality is that while upgrades are always welcome, it's no substitute for just getting to work. I have faith Polanco will help...but this recent stretch of wins has done far more for my confidence. Greg expectations are nothing without action.
Update: He got a hit, missed a key catch, and we lost the game. Still a good night...but my point was proven.
