Now that the degree is almost finished, I'm starting to wonder where else the "game" concept needs to go. Students are getting the hang of completing the lessons on the computer...but my classroom space is still limited, small, and not very transformative. It's not that students don't want to work collaboratively, or work at different paces, but often times the space is prohibitive. If a group of students wants read out loud, they either need to leave the room or read silently if everyone else is reading quickly. There's nowhere to sit down and relax, no separation, and the desks are rather rigid: bound by wire and screeches.
Of course these are all first world problems, but if there's money out there to solve them, maybe it's worth pursuing. Time to look into something transformative for a change!
