All three groups are essential to the school community, and it was very encouraging to see them, their families, and their nominating teachers in the LGI this morning. It was a good reminder that you don't need to wait for a large project, big presentation, or prestigious award to show extra effort, but rather when you find something you truly enjoy, the work is the reward in itself.
It was also a sad day for the Highlander Pride program. Ms. Peretin, who has been with the program since its inception and been the unwavering force of student recognition over the past seven years, delivered her final address as Highlander Pride Master of Ceremonies. While the program will continue and the students will continue to succeed, she will be sorely missed and leave tall order for her successor, despite her short stature.
With that, the long dark of January is almost over. It may have taken some extra effort, but the days are slowly starting to lighten.
(For an added bonus, I included some pictures of last nights Senior Rec. basketball game. Check them out!)
