Regardless, Day 1 of the exams has come and gone. As for me, I had my own defense to tend to. As a key part of my dissertation program, I was charged with defending the first three chapters (the proposal) of my dissertation this afternoon. While I've already started collecting some data, this step would indicate the shift from the planning aspect of the project to the actual writing aspect. Now that the project is approved in theory and the research questions are all in line, it's time to go see what the results reveal. I look forward to writing up the results this summer and wrapping up this final project.
So a day of Defense comes to a close. Of course, any day is really a day of defending yourself. It's only when you're sure of your own thoughts, beliefs, skills, and abilities that you're really able to get things done.
