With just under 48 hours until our second event, I'm thrilled to say that that's finally happened! Our speakers, especially our student speakers seem excited and are inviting their friends, people not directly associated with the district have reached out about attending, and when all is said and done, we're likely to sell out. Rather than worrying about people dropping out last minute, or hoping people won't walk out bored or not show up at all, I'm now finally looking forward to it is this time. Enough of the kindling has finally started and it looks like this fire is self-sufficient.
Now, does that mean it'll be time to turn this over to someone else next year and take a step back? Not quite. I think this still has a little room to grow and I'd like to eventually see this be a little more sufficient. Still, this is an exciting step towards making a new "tradition". It's not just doing it once, it's making sure everyone comes to expect it to happen again and again.
