While Senior Rec, Prom, and now Homecoming are seen as sure-things, Snowball is always the question-mark in the Baldwin dance community. I was really pleased to see that, after some slow ticket sales earlier in the week, the dance will hold easily over 400 students...which is about as large as the old Freshman and Sophomore formals combined. The great part about working at a high school is that traditions can be created relatively quickly, partly due to the student's willingness to try new things, and partly because of the quick turn-over. With an entirely new crew every four years, changing things only takes a few.
But the dance, thankfully, isn't until tonight, meaning I have some time to rest after my third long-run for marathon training. Even though it's already starting to feel like spring, the race is still 13 weeks away. Rest is just as important as effort on that front.
