As I told a few people I was headed to Sandcastle, several said "don't waterparks creep you out?" I asked for clarification, and they all said something like "you know, because the water...and people are in it...and, I don't know, it's just weird." Despite the fact they couldn't differentiate between a swimming pool and a waterpark, I understood what they were saying. A bunch of people walking around in swim suits and waiting in line to slosh into a pool? Pretty weird when you think about it literally. Of course anything gets strange when you think about it too much. Professional sports involves paying tons of money to sit and watch guys run around on the grass, yet it's rarely questioned.
Despite some protests, I'm off to the waterpark anyway. At the very least, I'll get some cheese fries, sit by the wave pool, and enjoy the final full week of summer.
