Of course the game was not without debate. While I was pretty much just there to have fun and actually attempt to swing a bat, some people were there with the full intention of striking people out with a laser focused pitch. Sparked a bit of conversation over whether "just for fun "meant that there could be no competition whatsoever, and what the line was as far as making the talent levels even. Obviously it once needs to be challenging enough for everybody, but not too challenging so that the people that don't normally player left out. I suppose the same deal with in education all the time.
I spent the bulk of the day playing with wiffleball with my brother-in-law and a group of young adults he has put together over the past couple years. The purpose of the game was to start a annual tradition and build some unity in the community. Of course the best part was actually being able to play with wiffleball after spending at least 20 years away when I quit playing Little League in third grade. As much fun as it is to watch the Pirates play, and as much as I know I will never played any sort of competitive level, it's still good to participate.
