I think one of the biggest reasons I've waited so long is that I figured fixing it would be a hassle. There'd be finding an auto-body shop, calling the insurance company, dropping off the car, finding arrangements to drive for the next week...etc. All the possible hurdles were enough to make me think I could live with my current situation...which I did for many months.
Today, however, I finally dropped the car off to get fixed. It turns out it was actually an extremely easy process, a rental car is provided, and the repairs will all be done in less than 24 hours. Not only does my insurance do more than I thought, but companies that do repairs actually try to make a user-friendly experience. It seems that in the past 12 years since my last fender bender, fixing cars has gotten much easier. It makes me wonder what else I've been avoiding for fear it would be "too difficult". It might just be that everything has gotten much easier.
