While the kids who participated did very well, and should be proud, I always wonder why we don't have more kids up on stage...and why some students fail to share their talents because they "aren't good at singing". Anyone who's seen America's Got Talent knows that the singing portions aren't always the winners. Sometimes it's the silly tricks, the acting performances, the acrobatics, or even just the unusual "stupid human tricks" that are really the most memorable. "Talent" is not just the ability to sing or dance, just like creativity is not always synonymous with one's ability to draw. Maybe if we could grow the base for what constitutes "talent", we'd be able to have shows more often than one-night-only.
Great work to all the students who performed in the show last night! With only 15 performances out of 1500 students, you were truly in the top 1/1000th of your peers.
