But as time as passed, I realize that the movie represents the swinging of the pendulum. Batman was super serious in the 1940s and 50s, super goofy in the the 60s and 70s, super serious in the 80s, and then campy again in 90s, and then realistic again in the 2000s. While WB is trying to make Batman even more serious, LEGO decided that the pendulum was due to swing again and made him even more goofy once again. It turns out...that that's just what the world wanted.
There's much to be said about why the pendulum swings, but it does. And it does for most everything. The trick is to be know that it's swinging and be ready for the change. For most things, nothing lasts forever.
