Giving blood is always funny because, despite the fact so many people do it, everyone walks out of the station either feeling drained, or tired, or woozy...or feeling like a hero. Even though it's not that physically demanding, and even though it's not that heroic (it was a literal 25 minute detour out of my day today), there's a sense of moral superiority that goes along with being a blood bag. It's as though everything that happens now for the rest of the day is just extra; I've done my signular good deed.
Hopefully this will be the year I'm able to donate twice. Usually marathon training forces me to miss the Spring event. With my foot hurting, it'll be a game time decision to see what happens.
