Since the debut of the episode, the "treat yo self" attitude has become a cultural meme. People (myself included at times) feel entitled to "treat themselves" anytime they've had a remotely stressful day, or feel worked up about something at...well, work. It's hardly the "fault" of this episode (it's just a cultural reflection after all) but it's definitely become "cool" now to "treat yo self".
I thought of this episode today as such a high percentage of the district in-service day was no longer dedicated to learning, education, philosophy, or even apps, but well-being, painting, yoga, and otherwise just "treating yourself." Is this a research based focus on personal wellness, or is the district just jumping on board the "treat yo self bandwagon?" The answer isn't immediately clear...but regardless, it's been a treat-filled day for some.
