After I zipped past the 365 day mark, I knew I wasn't ready to quit just yet so I made 1000 my new goal. That was over a year and half ago and I'm pleased to report that I've made it. Though some of my entries have been a silly, or tedious, or repetitive, or on rare occasions just re-posts of events from the previous year, I've successfully written something on this page for the 1000 days straight.
More than anything, I think this process has led me to be far more automatic in my writing, analytic in my thinking, and purposeful in my planning of each day. Everyday I'm forced to spend at least a little time thinking about what I've done or what idea I have, or what's worth sharing with "the world". It's at the point now where it's almost automatic...and when I have a new ideas, I instantly think "this is a great blog entry!" and quickly put together a post. And of course, not to mention the fact that my typing speed has gotten way faster in the past year or two. There's definite benefits.
And so...now what? Do I shoot for 2000? Do I ease off and only post deliberately on occasion? I'm really not ready to make either of those claims yet. For now, I'll still keep posting away, one day at a time. If you've been reading, congratulations to you for making it this full 1000 days with me as well. Send me any new ideas you might have; I'll keep the stream of consciousness going a little while longer.
In the meantime, he's a throwback to my very first post almost three years ago...
