Whenever stores are trying to sell large objects, especially around Christmas always make claims like "No Payments until March!" The natural reaction of the buyer is "March?! ....It'll never be March! I'll take it!" People have a very poor ability to imagine future consequences, especially when the dates feel far away. That's "future me's" problem they'll say to themselves. Perhaps that's why students (and most adults) are so keen to procrastinate. Dates that are too distant just can't be rationalized.
And so it was with our snow day. Just like people who use all the icing on a single toaster strudel....Happy Now, Sad Later. We'll be sure to repeat the process on Monday. Until then, let's enjoy the long weekend. After all...it'll never be Monday, right?
