But, sometimes you have to make changes if you want to grow. After much prayer and thought over the past few months, I've decided that my skills and talents are in need elsewhere. Starting next Thursday, I've accepted a job at a local non-profit dedicated to helping those unable to help themselves. (I'd rather not mention the organization here). I'm hoping to use the skills and experience I've gained over the past four years to guide me as I try to assist people in difficult circumstances. If there's one thing I've learned over the past couple of years, it's that sometimes, people just need you to do the work for them.
This post will likely come as a surprise to my coworkers and students. Not looking for a grand exit, I decided it would be best to simply make a quiet exit midweek. I hope many of them see this and take it to heart. This post will also be my last blog as my job will reject the use of technology as frivolous and cumbersome.
So farewell EBL readers and Baldwin friends. It's been an incredible journey and I look forward to the next step. Courage.
