That being said, our superintendent did start the day with an interesting question "Why do we do what we do?" At first the answer seems obvious: We're here for the kids, and we're here to get paid. Both are logical and accurate answers but they really are addressing the "what" or the "how" rather than the "why". What we do...is teach kids. What we do...is make money. How we do it is following our lesson plans and showing up on time. But why? Why this job over another? That's a different answer for each person.
I'm not here to give my answer to the question...just to show that the question exists. Take a look at the talk before for some more insight. If nothing else, it'll cause you to step back and think "why" before getting back to the "how".
